Update: two teams have been working behind the scenes to take this forward and The Friends has now been registered with the Charity Commission with the object of helping to maintain the building of the church and expand the community access and use. We will be looking to hold an official launch some time after Easter to give us time to get all the detail in place. There will then need to be an official AGM of The Friends to appoint a committee to do things.
